Our Fundamental Privacy Commitment
Docket is built on an offline-first, on-device architecture. We do not operate remote document servers, we do not require account registration, and we do not sync or upload your document images or text to the cloud. Your scans stay on your phone.
1. Your Documents Never Leave Your Device
Every page you scan is captured, enhanced, perspective-corrected, read by optical character recognition (OCR), and indexed for search entirely on your own device. Docket has no backend server, no cloud sync, and no account system. There is no remote infrastructure where your files could be received or stored, because none exists.
We never see your documents, and we have no technical ability to see them.
2. Who We Are
Docket is developed and published by rapidops For Online Selling ("RapidOps"), a business registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

3. Information We Do Not Collect
Docket does not collect personal information. Specifically, it does not collect or transmit:
- Your documents, images, or any text extracted from them
- Your name, email address, phone number, or contact details
- Your location
- Your device identifiers or advertising identifiers
- Your usage behaviour, for analytics or any other purpose
- Your contacts, calendar, or data belonging to other apps
Docket contains no advertising SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no behavioural tracking, and no crash-reporting or analytics service. There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for.
4. Usage Statistics Stay on Your Device
Docket keeps a small local record of your own activity — scans started, documents saved, documents exported, searches run, features used, and whether a session ended normally or crashed — so the Settings screen can show you your own storage and usage figures.
This record lives in the app’s private database on your device, is visible only to you, can be cleared by you at any time, and is never transmitted anywhere.
5. Google Libraries and the Internet Permission
Docket’s own code contains no networking whatsoever — it opens no connections and includes no networking library. The app does, however, include two official Google libraries:
Document Scanner & Text Recognition):
Performs page edge detection and on-device OCR. Latin script is built in, with Chinese, Devanagari, Japanese, and Korean also supported. Recognition runs on your device; page images are not sent anywhere.
com.android.vending.BILLING):
Processes and verifies the optional one-time Premium purchase.
These two libraries are the reason android.permission.INTERNET appears in Docket’s permission list on Google Play; they use it for their own licence verification and diagnostics. We state this plainly rather than leave you wondering why an offline app lists internet access. Docket never transmits your document images, recognised text, file names, or library data across any network.
6. Purchases
Docket offers one optional purchase: a one-time Premium unlock covering batch export, the searchable text layer in exported PDFs, additional OCR languages, and unlimited folders. The free version allows up to three folders and is not time-limited.
Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Google receives the information it needs to process and verify the transaction, under Google’s own privacy policy. We receive only confirmation that a purchase was made and is genuine. We never receive your payment card details, and no purchase is linked to your documents or to anything you do in the app.
7. Permissions Docket Requests
android.permission.CAMERA):
Used only to capture pages when you open the scanner. Frames are processed in memory and written straight into the app’s private storage.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE):
Requested only on Android 9 and older, and only when you choose to export a PDF or image to a location you pick. Newer Android versions do not need it.
USE_BIOMETRIC):
Used only if you turn on App lock. Your fingerprint, face, or device PIN is checked by Android itself and never leaves the system; Docket receives only a yes or no, and stores no biometric data of any kind.
WAKE_LOCK, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, FOREGROUND_SERVICE, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE):
Standard Android scheduling permissions, so OCR can finish in the background after a scan and deleted items are purged on time. They move no data off your device.
8. Encrypted Backup
Docket includes an optional encrypted backup tool. You choose the destination — an SD card, USB storage, your own cloud drive, anywhere you like — and you choose the passphrase.
The archive is encrypted on your device before it is written. We do not hold, store, or transmit your passphrase, and we cannot read, recover, or access your backup files. If you lose the passphrase, no one — including us — can open that archive.
9. Where Your Data Is Stored and How to Delete It
All Docket data lives in your device’s private app storage, which other apps cannot read. Deleting a document moves it to Recently Deleted, where it stays recoverable for 30 days before being removed for good; you can also delete it immediately from there.
Uninstalling Docket removes all of its data from your device permanently. Because we hold nothing, there is no account to close and no deletion request to send us.
10. Children
Docket is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because we do not collect information at all.
11. Changes to This Policy
If Docket changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the date above. If a future version ever introduced a feature that transmitted data, we would say so plainly here and in the app before it took effect.
